JOHN GOULD (1804-1881) was one of the leading ornithological artists of his time. His wife helped him with the technical side of the lithography and later this was taken over by Hart and Richter. He produced almost 3000 illustrations of which "The Birds of NEW GUINEA" are among the most sought after and exquisite. These are now scarce and a collector item.
Exceptional quality original antique lithographs hand coloured when issued. Published between 1875 and 1888. Double matted in cream/green using acid free materials. Size: folio 14"x20" |
